01Experience

I lead the work that turns complex programs into working systems.

A career built through increasing responsibility: from technical and program support into senior program management spanning national operations, technology implementation, training and technical assistance, people leadership, and change management.

01Career progression

Five roles. Increasing scope.

Since joining Impact Justice in 2019, I have moved from resolving user issues to managing the people and processes behind national support, implementation, and technical assistance. Each role brought wider responsibility for decisions, delivery, and staff development.

Current portfolio

Two different subject-matter environments, connected by the same management discipline.

PREA Resource Center / Online Audit System

National program operations and implementation for a Department of Justice–supported technology platform: program and project management, training and technical assistance, user enablement, staff supervision, requirements translation, testing and releases, issue and escalation management, and communications and change-management strategy, working closely with technical and development partners.

Housing Lab

Managing Housing Lab technical-assistance workstreams across different engagement models: intensive capacity-building with two funded community-based organizations, and training, stakeholder engagement, and implementation support for communities exploring local adaptation of the Homecoming Project's home-sharing model. I coordinate partners, plans, milestones, and follow-through as part of Impact Justice's broader work.

02What the progression adds up to

Five capabilities, one foundation.

Program and project management runs through each of these roles. As my responsibilities grew, I took on more decisions about delivery, staff development, technology changes, and partner coordination.

Program & project management

01

I manage parallel workstreams across two national portfolios, setting priorities and tracking dependencies through delivery. That includes moving system enhancements from program need through testing and release, and coordinating technical assistance with partners who have different roles and timelines.

Program operations & implementation

02

I manage support workflows and escalations for a national program, prepare the team for releases, and adjust processes when field issues reveal a recurring problem.

Government & technology

03

I translate federal program requirements and user feedback into system priorities, coordinate UAT and releases, and work with contracted development partners to resolve issues. I contribute to vendor and investment discussions that affect delivery, within a multi-year federal technology effort.

Training, technical assistance & change

04

I manage national training, auditor learning resources, and technical assistance as an ongoing program function. For DOJ-approved changes to the PREA audit instrument and auditor handbook, I develop the implementation communication and training strategy, with final approvals following federal and organizational processes. I bring this experience to capacity-building work with community organizations through the Housing Lab.

People & cross-functional leadership

05

Management responsibility across a four-person OAS team, including up to 2 formal direct reports at one time, alongside project-based leadership of approximately 10–15 contributors across broader initiatives. I supervise and develop staff through work assignment, priority setting, coaching, training, performance management, annual and mid-year reviews, and professional development, with team members advancing into expanded roles and promotions. I also align government officials, organizational leadership, technical partners, and community stakeholders around shared decisions and deliverables without relying solely on reporting lines.
